Lorraine Music Academy celebrated the works of famous composers in a musical evening on Sunday at Epicentre.
At the concert aided by the LAMP Trust and supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum of the Austrian Embassy, New Delhi, artistes from Vienna – Marialena Fernandes and Ranko Marcovic – performed the works of famous composers along with Indian pianist Lorraine Fiona Aloysius.
Marialena, who has performed in India and abroad, said that the Indian audiences are no different from the international ones. “I have been performing for the last 40 years and I believe there is good music and bad music. If you play good and melodious music, the audiences across the world will appreciate it,” Marialena said.
The last segment of the concert showcased Indian adaptations of the Viennese Waltz style. Old Bollywood numbers were improvised by Lorraine & Marialena and the audiences sang along while the numbers were played out on the piano.
